These videos are pretty awesome! In this edition I love how Kweli breaks down both one of his newer tracks on Prisoner of Conscious, but then goes back and does the same with one of his most classic and beloved tracks in "Get By".

New Video: Locksmith "Fleming Street"

Reblogged from Rap Radar:

Locksmith relives the murder of his cousin in this emotional video. The song is off his The Green Box LP. Says Locksmith:

Since the murder of my cousin, I had been searching for the right way to properly express my grief. This song and video is dedicated to his mom (may she rest in peace) and any one who has lost someone to violence.

Very powerful video from artist Locksmith. Thumbs up from me. Unfortunately it hits close to home for far too many of us.

Bunji Garlin's Differentology Music Video

Reblogged from eLEWsive Thoughts:

The video for one of, if not, the biggest song of the year for Soca music is here. Personally, I suggest watching the video, then reading what Bunji said below the video and watch it again. I did and it makes a bit more sense.

“This is just a music video- it’s not a movie, but it’s not the typical music video where there’s just a lot of dancing.

'The worst kind of celebrity:' Kanye West did some very Kanye West things at a concert Wednesday night

Reblogged from National Post | Arts:

Kanye West called himself "the worst kind of celebrity" on Wednesday night in concert at the Adult Swim channel's upfront party.

What at first sounded like an uncharacteristic display of low self-esteem quickly turned, and the West we know and love emerged as confident and Amazing as ever. The rapper is the "worst kind of celebrity," because "all I do is make real music," he said in perfect sing-song.

It's pretty interesting how 'Ye is able to take the events of his life and turn them into performance art. I personally don't think that anyone else does it better, simply because we're still pining over him and talking about him to no end in anticipation of his next set of music. He might be douche, but he's savvy douche.

Video: Running Man by Yoshiaki Kawajiri - Music: Noir Deco - Future Noir

Reblogged from Simotron:

I honestly have no idea what the purpose behind this video even is, have never heard of this artists, don't know what album it comes from, or any of that...the only thing that I know is that the song and video go extremely well together and that they are FREAKING AWESOME! It's like a cross between so many different things: I can see influences of Gorillaz and Daft Punk as far as the animation combined with the music, and there's very much a science fiction vibe to it (even though that might also be just me on a high from having seen Start Trek last night), but I know that I wanna do some more research on this artist and delve deeper into their history. For real!

LOL! Wayne Brady is hilarious!

He went on The Sway Morning Show and he was dope, but he was actually really good and funny. He went in on Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Jay-Z, President Obama and a bunch of there stuff like the state of HIp-Hop.

Rap isn't a barometer for Blackness, but nobody can't question Wayne Brady after this one!
