Jay-Z Producing The Great Gatsby Music
Jay-Z is partnering with film director, Baz Luhrmann to executive produce and record music for the upcoming film, The Great Gatsby.
According to Reuters, Jay will blend contemporary music with hip hop for its soundtrack. The film based off F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel starring Leonardo DiCaprio hits theaters May 10. Says Jay:
"As soon as I spoke with Baz and Leonardo, I knew this was the right project.
Can you really be mad at Jay for delving into so many different areas to make money from and create music at this point? He's hit up the whole publishing and licensing game, and now his name is getting bigger and bigger when it comes to production, so much so that he's now producing the music for the new DiCaprio film The Great Gatsby. Now that's power!
