DJ Cassius Cain Reppin’ Detroit Hip Hop… Get ya Mind Right!
Two new blogs in just as many days???? Hey, I said that I’d be stepping up the blog game, and I MEANT it this time, so follow me on these joints. I should be having a lot more to say in the coming days!
I want to highlight an underground Detroit Mixtape that’s beginning to make the rounds called “Wayne Gretzky”. It’s by DJ Cassius Cain out of (where else?) my hometown of Detroit! Now don’t get it twisted folks. This is definitely not some ole “It’s So Cold in the D” type of hip hop (even though I give respect to T Baby for over a million views on YouTube). This is straight up 313 raw ish! My personal favorite out of all the joints is “Double G’s” so far.
The great thing about this tape is that my dude Cassius doesn’t just highlight himself as an artist, a host or a DJ. He gives shine to other artists and does it enthusiastically! Check out the bangers “Trapper of the Year” by Money Bags, “Big Thangs” by Yung Twizzle and “What Da Bizness” by Tone (another standout track!) There’s a lot that’s offered here for fans of that straight-up, pull-no-punches, in-your-face, don’t give a F Detroit hip hop. And yeah, I know, a lot of folks that will hear it will say, “They’re all saying the same things that all other rappers say.” Well, maybe that’s because you’re NOT LISTENING hard enough! Detroit emcees and performers always have something to say, even if it’s not necessarily what everyone wants to hear all the time. That’s how we do in the D: You might not like it, but sooner or later, you’ll thank us for giving you some insight into our world.
That’s all for now! Be sure to download the DJ Cassius Cain mixtape right here: http://www.mediafire.com/?q4oylmm2mdn. And support people that are trying to do something with their lives. Thanks again for reading. Until next time!
